History of Cults
Historically, Cults was connected to the city of Aberdeen, and likewise Deeside, via the Royal Deeside Railway at two different train stations. The railway ceased to operate towards the middle of the 20th century but has since been reclaimed as a scenic cycle route which takes you from the village’s popular Allen park to Duthie park in Aberdeen. While the railway has long since been closed, there are still regular bus services into Aberdeen and the surrounding areas placing the city in easy reach of residents.
Today, Cults is a key part of Royal Deeside and there are plenty of opportunities to explore the historical areas of Deeside with Cults as a base.
