History of Oldmeldrum
The town is famous for its association with Scotch whisky, and is home to the Glenn Garioch distillery – which was founded over 200 years ago and is still going strong today, making it one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries. Glen Garioch (pronounced glen-geer-ee) is named for its location in the heart of the Valley of the Garioch. Glen Garioch also lays claim to being the world's most easterly Scotch whisky distillery.
