From Ellon, proceed out of the town along the A90 Aberdeen/Peterhead coast road and at the Toll of Birness fork, take the left exit onto the A952 signed Clola/Fraserburgh. Continue along the A952 for several miles and just before reaching the former Ardallie School, turn right onto a minor road signed Hill of Auquharnie.
