Three ASPC Retirement Properties on the Current Market

Retirement properties are perfect for those looking to enjoy comfortable, practical and peaceful surroundings among fellow like-minded neighbours. Often, retirement flats or houses are set in small retirement communities and are better equipped than regular housing for the likes of security, access and social activities.

Those over 55s who enjoy a vibrant social life will be pleased to know that on-site residents’ lounges, dining rooms and shared gardens are regular features to retirement properties. Some homes also include guest rooms or on-site suites for visitors.

Gardens and buildings upkeep are usually maintained by the community’s management and so re-painting windows or getting out the lawnmower become chores of the past. Assisted living care services are generally offered by retirement villages for extra support.

We take a closer look at three retirement properties that are currently available on the market.

A Woodland Retreat – £239,995

Set in a great location at Pitfodels, near Cults, this residential period house is a short 20-minute drive to the city centre. The home is set in approximately four and a half acres of landscaped gardens which are perfect for gentle strolls.

The two bedroomed, first floor apartment is designed for the over 55s, but is ideal for the young at heart. It benefits from a private car parking space and is stylishly decorated in a contemporary way which complements the property’s traditional features and provides affordable, luxurious living.

The bright lounge has a large bay window overlooking the green lawn and mature trees. The property also features a modern dining kitchen with integrated appliances. The master bedroom comes with an en suite shower room and patio doors. In addition, there is further double bedroom and a family bathroom which is ideal for visiting guests.

For socialising, there is a shared residents’ lounge and dining area to enjoy. The visitor parking, private walled garden and barbeque also further enhance this property’s character and charm.

A Golf Lover's Dream - £190,000

Situated in the Inchmarlo Retirement Village near Banchory, this two-bedroomed bungalow is ideal for those with an interest in golf. It’s nestled nearby the manicured lawns of Inchmarlo Golf Centre and the slightly further afield Banchory Golf Club. The Deeside area provides a variety of leisure pursuits including fishing and hill-walking, as well as offering a range of popular shops and local restaurants.

The property benefits from high ceilings, a feature fireplace in the lounge with a full-length bay window, traditional décor and spacious rooms throughout. This home has been designed with the more senior resident in mind, offering independent living with a range of optional nursing care services.

The bungalow enjoys views over the estate’s well-maintained gardens and central courtyard. A walled garden and putting green can be accessed by the property.

A West-End Gem - £270,000

This McCarthy and Stone Signature Collection two bedroomed flat is set in the Craigieburn Park suburb of Aberdeen’s West End, surrounded by tree lined streets. The flat is located close to Hazlehead park, an enjoyable day out for all the family, with two golf courses and numerous popular walking routes.

The master bedroom benefits from an en suite, walk-in wardrobe and a balcony with views over lush green trees. There is an open-plan lounge and dining area that has a kitchen fitted with fully integrated appliances. The dining area also has access to the balcony.
