Well-placed between the north bank of the Don and the west bank of the River Urie, Inverurie is an attractive town set in striking countryside and is close to one of the best-loved hills in the Grampian Highlands, Bennachie. The town is also within easy reach of Aberdeen airport, which is just under 12 miles to the south west.
The town of Inverurie has a small population (approximately 12,760 at the last census) and is known locally as Heart of the Garioch – this is the name of the surrounding part of Aberdeenshire. An ancient Royal Burgh, Inverurie was originally granted its charter as far back as 1195.
