These luxury additions are often adjacent to the master bedroom as they do require a reasonable amount of space. More compact or budget-friendly versions can, however, be added onto guest or secondary bedrooms.

The average cost of adding an en suite is around £3,000 but a recent report by Nationwide Building Society outlines that they can increase the value of a property by as much as 5%. With the average house price at around £220,000, this means investing in an en suite could generate a return of around £11,000.
