Aberdeen property market shows signs of a steady recovery in Q3

This quarter, the results continue the improving picture set out in the Reports for the first two quarters of 2021. The third quarter figures are of interest because there can be years when the results foretell a disappointing year. I am happy to be able to report that the third quarter results continue to show a steady improvement of previous years and show a small but significant “milestone” achieved.

Aberdeen property market shows signs of recovery in Q2 review

Since the easing, in part, of the lockdown around late summer last year, it became clear that our local market was showing good activity in property sales, across the board, as our market sought to “catch up” after the enforced shut down. It was a matter of some speculation just how long the increase in activity would last and what, if any, effect would be discernible in price movement.

Aberdeen property market sees positive movement in Q1 2021

Last year was unusual for everyone, but especially for the Aberdeen property market. After a mildly encouraging start, the local market was stopped in its tracks by lockdown, only to recover, strongly, later in the year. In my last market review, I remember endeavouring to dampen expectations for 2021 and was concerned not to raise hopes as the success could be short-lived.

New Scottish legislation for fire and smoke detectors

As a direct result of recent fire tragedies, fire and smoke alarms must be interlinked, and there must be adequate carbon monoxide protection in all homes in Scotland, both private and social housing, by February 2022.
